COMMENTARY UPON MESSAGES

December 26th  1982

"I wish all parents would teach their children the holy fear of God, my child. Poor children, my child. So many are getting into the way of perdition, my child; they commit so many sins of impurity everyday, they are offending the Eternal Father so much"

This message coincided with the feast of the Holy Family; and Our Lady has this in her mind for She refers to all the members of the family (" I wish all parents- father and mother- would teach their children"). This way She reminds us of one of the aims of marriage: the education of children. Pope John Paul II loved the family and he defended it on and on against its enemies who were trying to destroy it. His "Letter to the Families" (1994) is essential at this moment, especially in Spain where it is the aim of lots of attacks.

"Marriage, which undergirds the institution of the family, is constituted by the covenant whereby "a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of their whole life", and which "of its own very nature is ordered to the well-being of the spouses and to the procreation and upbringing of children". Only such a union can be recognized and ratified as a "marriage" in society. Other interpersonal unions which do not fulfil the above conditions cannot be recognized, despite certain growing trends which represent a serious threat to the future of the family and of society itself. "[1]

During his last visit to Valencia (Spain), Benedict XVI took part in some events of the V World Meeting of Families and he reminded us of the doctrine we already know; he emphasized the fact that "the Church teaches us to respect and foster the marvellous reality of the indissoluble marriage between man and woman which is also the origin of the family. To recognize and assist this institution is one of the greatest services which can be rendered nowadays to the common good and to the authentic development of individuals and societies "[2].

In Prado Nuevo's messages, the family has a special place and sometimes the Holy Family of Nazareth is proposed as a model to imitate; even Luz Amparo was given the grace of watching some scenes of the life of Jesus, Mary and Joseph.

"All those who are offending the Holy Ghost, my child, will not be forgiven"

The words "will not be forgiven" imply "if they go on offending God". The sin against the Holy Ghost will not be forgiven because the grace cannot get in the soul; for this reason, Jesus Christ says in the Gospel, "But whoever slanders the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven: he carries the guilt of his sin forever"[3]. The Catechism of the Catholic Church explains this evangelistic sentence this way, "There are no limits to the mercy of God, but anyone who deliberately refuses to accept his mercy by repenting, rejects the forgiveness of his sins and the salvation offered by the Holy Spirit. Such hardness of heart can lead to final impenitence and eternal loss."[4] According to the Catechism of Pius X these sins are:" (1) Despairing of being saved; (2) Presuming on being saved without merit; (3) Opposing the known truth; (4) Envying another's graces; (5) Obstinately remaining in sin; (6) Final impenitence"( n. 965). Besides, they are "specially said to be against the Holy Ghost, because they are committed through pure malice, which is contrary to goodness, the special attribute of the Holy Ghost" (n. 966)

Then, Our Lady says the Hail Mary; curiously, She starts by the second part and then the first one. However, She recommends us, "say it, my children, thinking of every word's meaning" because one deeply said is worthier than lots of empty Hail Maries

Finally, Luz Amparo sees a celestial abode, which she will describe later. It is irradiated with light; she sees Saint Joseph wearing a white robe and lots of children with the same garments. Among them, she sees Baby Jesus; a blue resplendence is springing from his body. She sees them moving forwards and backwards; their feet remain still as if they were floating. A kind of beautiful white lawn covers the ground…as you can see, human language cannot describe properly all these marvels and celestial realities and their great beauty.
