COMMENTARY UPON MESSAGES

January 15th, 1982

"Yes, my daughter, here I am. Don’t say you can’t stand it anymore. Take my Cross and endure these sorrows with me. I know you suffer a lot, but your suffering is absolutely necessary; you should suffer with courage. You should realise that many souls are being saved because of this suffering. Therefore, my daughter, receive all those sufferings with joy and humbleness.

Let’s take part in those sufferings; it’s very important to receive them with humbleness and love" (Our Lord).

By means of these words Our Lord manifests himself to Luz Amparo; somehow He says that difficulties never exceed our own strength if they come from God. It is the same idea Saint Paul points out in his Letter to the Corinthians: " No trial greater than human endurance has overcome you. God is faithful and will not let you be tempted beyond your strength. He will give you, together with the temptation, the strength to escape and resist" ( 1 Cor 10,13).

It is obvious that Luz Amparo was chosen to be a victim soul; for this reason, Our Lord tells her that her suffering is absolutely necessary; He shares his Cross with her as a sign of special love and He compels her to endure it with courage, joy, humbleness and love.

"I know this Cross weighs a lot; but it’s necessary because many souls are offending the Divine Majesty of My Father and are trampling on My Blood"

How little we do value the Passion of Jesus and His Most Precious Blood! Shed for love! How different the attitude of saints is! In 1533, Saint Teresa of Jesus was going across the oratory when she saw a bust of the " Ecce Homo" which had just being left there. " It was Christ’s, full of sores – she says- and it inspired me such devoting feelings that, when I looked at it, watching him this way made me feel bad because it represented well what he had suffered for us. I felt so sorry for not having waked those sores, that my heart seemed to break and I just fell down to his feet in a terrible neeping, only asking him to make me strong for not offendin Him again:

The following sentence is also worth mentioning: "You should realize that everything on Earth will pass; but Heaven will never end, it will never end".

How attached to earthly possessions, creatures and things we are! How many times we do despise never-ending gifts because of disordered affections! How many times we do risk our souls’ salvation! If we thought more about our final end, our life and interests would change. Jesus assures us in the Gospel: " Heaven and Earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away". Besides, when He invites us to the evangelic poverty He says clearly in one of saint Luke’s writings: "Sell what you have and give alms. Get yourselves purses that do not wear out, and make safe investments with God, where no thief comes and no moth destroys. For where your investments are, there will be your heart also". What is it that What is it that we most value ? Heavenly matters or earthly ones? Do we often think about spiritual values? Or do we let worldly charms and its pleasures seduce us? We are risking eternity, dear brethren: eternally happy or eternally unhappy!

Related to this matter, the Lord adds in this message:

"Those souls who don’t know me will not be damned; but those who know me and, in spite of knowing me, have despised me to live a life of pleasures, of sins; those souls do not know what is waiting for them, because I’m not only referring to worldly souls but also to my chosen souls, because many of them, although they have been chosen, want to enjoy life’s pleasures and they get lost". For this reason, Our Lady says: "I’m their Mother and I wish they all save their souls; I’ve cried for them many times, and I’m crying, and I only pray for their soul’s salvation".

Finally, Our Most Blessed Virgin mentions the Rosary once and once again and recommends it; indeed, it is one of the messages where the saying of this Marian prayer, so beloved by the Sacred Hearts, is more insistently advised. Our Pope John Paul II has spread this excellent prayer and- as well as Our Lady- he considers it as his favourite prayer. He often gives rosaries to those who are received in his audiences. To honour Mary in this month, especially dedicated to Her, and to get a fervent devotion to this celestial prayer we include some quotations taken from this message:
