MESSAGE OF JUNE 29TH 1983 ( SAINT PAUL AND SAINT PETER)

AT PRADO NUEVO OF EL ESCORIAL

THE VIRGIN

My child, today is an important day, my child, it is the day of the Apostles of Christ, my child.  Imitate them, imitate the disciples of Christ; but to be disciples, my children, you have to be perfect as your Celestial Father is perfect, my children.  We need apostles for the last times, but you have to be humble and to feel love, love toward your neighbours.  You should also think, my children, that without humbleness you cannnot become an apostle of Christ . Be like Saint Paul, my children, who said:  "Does all this matter?, my children?  Does it matter all the suffering on earth for the prize awaiting for us in Heaven?". Saint Paul said it constantly, my children; therefore I tell you: if you want to follow Christ, it has to be along the path of sacrifice.

How, my children, how you can think that God is a tyrant?  God is mercy and love, but he will give each one —I have repeated lots of times— according to his works, my children.

Speak of Christ all around the world, in every nook and cranny on earth. Carry the light of the Gospels.  We are at the last times, my children, and it is urgent to preach the word of God everywhere.

So many of you are like Saint Peter, my children!  So many here deny Christ!  But, my children, you still have time; Saint Peter repented; you can do the same thing.

Kiss the ground, my child, in atonement for all the world’s sins...  This act of humbleness, my children, is good to save souls.  You can do it daily and offer it for those souls who have not known my Son.

My children, keep on saying the holy Rosary; this prayer pleases me so much! and with the Rosary many souls can be saved, my children.  I also ask you to visit  the Holy Sacrament, my Son is sad and alone waiting for you all, my children!

Be humble, my children, be humble to be able to get to Heaven.  The world is getting worse everyday and souls get themselves into Hell everyday because of their sins, because they do not want, my children, they do not want to receive the grace of God.  Poor souls, my children! Pray for consecrated souls. Pray, my children, as my Son said:  "Ask and you will receive".

Look, my child, my Heart is bleeding of pain for all my children, for all of them without distinction of races, my children.  I want to save you all, my children, but there are souls that do not want to receive the grace I am giving.  Look at my Heart, my child...  ( before this vision, Luz Amparo weeps unconsolingly).  But, my daughter, three souls have been purified; your prayers are saving many souls. You can remove three, my child. Remove three thorns from my Immaculate Heart...  Do not you touch more, my child, touch no more, they have not been purified yet, my child.

Make sacrifices, my children, make sacrifices and prayer.  With sacrifice and prayer, you can save lots of souls, my children.

You can write a name, my child, in the Book of Life...  There are lots of names, my child, in the Book of Life.

Keep on saying my favorite prayer, my children; keep on praying for the salvation of souls.  So many souls, my children, are condemned because nobody prays for them!

Kiss my feet, my child, in reward for your suffering, my child...

I bless you as the Father blesses you in the name of the Son and with the Holy Spirit

Good-bye, my children.  Good-bye.

COMMENT ON THE MESSAGES

29th June 1983

“My child, today is an important day, my child, it is the day of the Apostles of Christ, my child.  Imitate them, imitate the disciples of Christ; but to be disciples, my children, you have to be perfect as your Celestial Father is perfect, my children.” (Our Lady)

29th June is the solemnity of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, celebrated in a single day because they are both pillars of the Church.  Therefore, the Virgin asks us to "imitate the disciples of Christ ", seeking sanctification.  What can we imitate from Saint Peter and Saint Paul?  Certainly, their fidelity to the Church, their love to the neighbour, their acceptance of God`s will and, of course, their love to Jesus.  Saint Peter had the privilege of  being the first Pope in the History of the Church; that is to say, the Vicar of Christ; he appears in not few evangelical passages proclaiming his love and fidelity to the Master, although he seems to be weakened by his defects sometimes, he even betrays Jesus denying him three times (cf.  Mt 26, 69-74).  But this same Peter loved Him passionately showing it more than once and repaired his three sins with three acts of love upon the Resurrecting Jesus (cf.  Jn 21, 15-17).

In San Pablo we can see us because somehow we have rejected and pursued Jesus with our sins, avoding the Church for some time or criticizing It in its ministers.  However, we will try to imitate, on the contrary, the subsequent fidelity of the Apostle, his deep love to the Lord, His full identification with Him that led him to exclaim:  “...It is no longer me, Christ lives in me...” (Ga 2, 19), considering everything vain when compared with God:  “...everything seems to me as nothing compared with the knowlege of Christ Jesus, my Lord. For his sake I have let everything fall away and I now consider all as garbage, if instead I may gain Christ” (Flp 3, 8).

“... but to be disciples, my children, you have to be perfect as your Celestial Father is perfect" Our Lady says. She reminds us of a passage of the Gospel where the Lord sets high standards with respect to holiness:  "But this I tell you: Love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be children of your Father in Heaven. For he makes his sun rise on both the wicked and the good, and he gives rain to both the just and the unjust. If you love those who love you, what is special about that? Do not even tax colletors do as much? And if you are friendly only to your friends, what is so exceptional about that? Do not even the pagans do as much?" (Mt 5, 44-48).

Our Lady refers to saint Paul again and concludes:  “… therefore I tell you: if you want to follow Christ, it has to be along the path of sacrifice.  How, my children, how can you think that God is a tyrant?  God is mercy and love[1], but he will give each one —I have repeated lots of times— according to his works”

What the Virgin refers to in the message is what is written in the Gospel, when Jesus talks about the characteristics of a true disciple:  "If you want to follow me, deny yourself, take up your cross and follow me. For whoever chooses to save his life will lose it, but the one who loses his life for my sake will find it" (Mt 16, 24-25).  What is more, the same Christ says that the one who does not take up his cross and come after him is not worthy of him (cf.  Mt 10, 38).

The cross is presented in many different ways, and the so called “daily crosses” have a great sanctifying value, if they are accepted with humbleness and patience:  "We will more easily find mortification in the current and ordinary things: in the neat, constant, and intense work; knowing that the best spirit of sacrifice is perseverance in finishing with perfection the task you have already begun; in being punctual, filling the day with heroic minutes ; in the care of the things we have and use; in the eagerness of service, that makes us perform accurately even the most little duties; And in the details of charity, to make the path of holiness kind for the others: sometimes a smile can be the best sign of our spirit of penance... the one who can overcome himself every day has the spirit of penance, offering the Lord a thousand little things without making a show"[2].

The Virgin explains:  "God is mercy and love, but He will give each one (..) according to his works".  If we take into account the figures, the word "mercy" is repeated 211 times in the messages of  Prado Nuevo; while others, like “punishment" or "justice", appear only 137 and 135 times respectively.  If we compare them, for example, with the word "love", so united to mercy, its most beautiful flower, as saint Mary Faustine Kowalska wrote in her Diary[3], it reaches the figure of 852!, without considering "charity", another name of  love, that comes 160.  It is remarkable the fact that the most repeated exhortation in the revelations of El Escorial is the commandment of love; In the first message Our Lord encouraged us to " Love one another" (November 13th 1980), and the last one finished with an invitation to practice the commandment of charity:  " Love one another, but with a pure and holy love” (Our Lord, May 4th 2002)
