COMMENTARY UPON MESSAGES
January 22nd 1983
"The Vicar of Jesus Christ is in a
great danger (…). He will be a great martyr, my child; I'll be with him till his
last moment" (Our Lady)
These first lines clearly refer to the Pope, Vicar of Jesus Christ on
Earth; but, which of them? John Paul who was the Pontiff when these messages
were said and was on Peter's Chair on 1983? If we understand martyrdom as dying
because of faith, John Paul II was not a martyr for he was called to the
Father's womb dying of natural causes on
"You, my child, offer yourself as
victim for the salvation of poor sinners; you will suffer very hard trials, my
child. Don't let anybody touch you, don't let anybody hospitalize you, my child;
they're trying to destroy all this" ( Our Lady)
From the beginning, Our Lord's words fulfilled in Luz Amparo: "A student
is not above his teacher, or a slave above his master. If He head of the family,
has been called Beelzebul, how much more the members of the family!"[1].
She has had to suffer different kinds of offences: mockeries, slanders,
insults…this reality is shown in several messages; for example, on January 2nd
1999: "They are not against you, they are
against me, my child. That's why I ask you: be humble, my child, and I tell you
again that the student is not more than his master. If they called me Beezcebul
and so many other perverse words, my child! Why are you going to be more than
the Master?"
Likewise, Prado Nuevo's Work has been a sign of contradiction and has had
enemies suffering different kinds of persecutions. Firstly, some members of the
Church; then, some public entities and, finally, when the Asociación Pública de
Fieles was founded, some relatives
of some members of this association. More recently, since the end of
"And all those who have received
any testimony, I would be very pleased if they made it public because they are
candles, as I said other times, that can save lots of souls" ( Our
Lady)
Indeed, lots of pilgrims who come to Prado Nuevo have changed their lives
completely; they are attracted to this spirituality that has enriched their
christian life or has encouraged them to come back to the Church. Conversions
and vocations born in this place are never ending; even, there have been
healings, as some testimonies show, although this will have its great fruits
when the chapel Our Lady asked for will be built. Meanwhile, pilgrims and devout
people come to this place of blessings, answering Our Lady's messages'
callings.
Written testimonies of lots
of people who received graces in Prado Nuevo are kept in archives created on
this purpose. However, this is not the only message encouraging us to give
testimony of the graces we have received; On April 4th The Virgin said, "My child, I want them to be grateful and
give testimony of so many, many graces they are receiving. I promised I would
pour lots of graces over this place; I am pouring them, but souls are turning
dumb and deaf. Give testimony, my children, your Mother is asking you"
The following paragraphs include teachings
commented other times before:
"Lots of people laugh at my words,
my child, but when they will be at the Celestial Father's presence, my child, I
will be there too as Mediator for the salvation of Humankind. I want, my child,
all my children to save their souls" (The Virgin)
Several times, El Escorial's messages use the title " Mediator" for Our
Lady. The Constitution Lumen Gentium of the Vatican Council II talks of " Mary
Mediatrix" in number 62 and it reminds us of the fact that "the Blessed
Virgin is invoked by the Church under the titles of Advocate, Auxiliatrix,
Adjutrix, and Mediatrix. This, however, is to be so understood that it neither
takes away from nor adds anything to the dignity and effectiveness of Christ the
one Mediator." Therefore, we can invoke Mary because She will
surely intercede for us "that we may be made
worthy
of the promises of
Christ.",as we say “in
Hail Holy Queen”.
Finally, this sentence from the message deserves to be
marked:
"Prayer, I want, my child, but
prayer must be accompanied by sacrifice, my children" (Our
Lady)
Several messages, especially those in 1983 and
1984, insist on the fact that prayer must be joined to sacrifice[2].
Father Alonso Rodríguez , S. I., explains in his work Ejercicio de Perfección
y Virtudes Cristianas: " These two things must always walk together and one
must help the other; mortification is necessary for prayer and by means of
prayer we get to perfect mortification"[3]
