MESSAGE OF AUGUST 15TH 1983, ASSUMPTION OF THE VIRGIN MARY

AT PRADO NUEVO OF EL ESCORIAL

OUR LADY:

My child, my child, I had to come in such an important day, my child. As well as you take part in the sorrows of Christ’s Passion, you are going to take part in My Glory too, my child.

I’ve come, my child, as your Mother of mercy and love.  I watch constantly, my child, for all my children, for all, because you all are my children; this is the human inheritance, my children, I am entitled to this inheritance.

I lived, my child, seventy-three years on Earth among the human race; I lived as my Son did, I followed the Gospel’s path; I could sin, my child, but I never did it.  I set an example, example of humbleness, I set an example of poverty, and I set an example of purity.  I also set an example, among the entire human race, of faith, so that they had faith in Christ.  I left that inheritance among the human race.  That is the example I set, my child, during all my life.

Joseph, my husband, God the Father gave him the privilege of being the adoptive father of the Divine Word, who was conceived in my womb. He educated him in the holy fear of God, my child, and he gave Him all his love.  Therefore, I ask all Christian families to educate their children in the holy fear of God, so that after taking part in Jesus Christ’s death, they can take part in the inheritance of his resurrection, my children.  Therefore, I ask you sacrifices, my children, sacrifices together with prayer.

I like this prayer so much, my children!  I have let you say this prayer till the last mystery, because it pleases me so much, my children!  It is my favourite prayer.  With the Rosary, my children- but always thinking to be in grace of God, before the sacrament of Confession and the Eucharist, my favourite prayer is this, my children- with this prayer all Humankind can be saved; I ask you, my children, I ask you sacrifices and prayer.

Pray for those poor souls that have not known the grace of God. Live as I lived, hidden in prayer and sacrifice, and expecting this day, my child, this day.

Now you are going to see two armies of angels transporting me to the Father’s abodes; and it was such a great joy to get to God my Creator with my body and glorious soul, my child!  Look, my child, you are going to take part in this important vision.

LUZ AMPARO:

You are dead, you are dead.  Oh, there are so many angels, oh!; but the Virgin is dead, she is dead.

OUR LADY:

No, my child, I was asleep and transported in the hands of my angels.

LUZ AMPARO:

Oh, oh, oh. ..!

OUR LADY:

God my Creator transported me as the Queen and Lady of all Humankind, and also as the Queen of all Celestial Armies.  They are trillions and trillions of armies of angels, my child.  Look, there are so many angels: trillions and trillions.

 LUZ AMPARO:

Oh, oh, oh. ..! I want to stay here.  I want to stay here.  Oh! I want to stay here.

OUR LADY:

No, my child, you have not fulfilled your mission yet.  You have a mission to fulfil; when you fulfil that mission...  (She speaks in an unknown language).

 LUZ AMPARO:

Oh, but that time is still a long way off. ..!  (She cries with grief).

OUR LADY:

You must offer yourself, my child; reflect upon the fact that my Son has chosen you as a victim for the good of Humankind.  Yes, my child, and think also about the fact that souls will be saved if there are victims to repair the sins of others.

Pray for consecrated souls, my child. I love them so much! And what do some of those souls give me in return, my child?

Kiss the ground as an act of humbleness for the salvation of souls...  My child, this act of humbleness is so good for the salvation of souls…; this act of humbleness makes you see yourself as nothing worth, my child, nothing, miserable thing, and you still have to be purified and purify so many souls with sufferings, my child, so many souls who need it.

Lots of people believe, my child, God cannot appear to human beings.  God appears to the humble to confuse the powerful.  Yes, my child, if God wanted, He would be able to make the entire world burn by only moving one finger, my child, but He is warning them through humble souls like you and other instruments He has chosen to save Humankind, my child; but you must be very humble and think that you are a very little thing, you are nothing, that my Son has chosen you because you are miserable and sinful, not because you are a mystic or a saint, my child.  That is why you have to shout humans must change their lives, must be humble and must put their lives in order, my child, say loudly that they are living in a world of disorder and vice, and that young people, my child, are committing lots of sins of impurity; lots of offenses are being committed against God the Father, and God the Father is going to discharge His wrath at any moment, my children.  Therefore, I ask you to dress your bodies modestly and not to cause scandal to human beings.

Yes, my child, with sacrifice and prayer lots of souls can be saved.

Kiss the ground again for all the sinners of the world, for all of them without distinction of races...  I keep on saying, my child, that you can do this sacrifice all day long.  It is good, my child, to humiliate yourself before the Father for the salvation of souls.  My Son, my child, spent whole days humiliating himself with his head on the ground for the salvation of poor sinners.

Keep on saying, my children, my favourite prayer.  I ask you to keep on making vigils. They please me so much, my children!  Prayer pleases me so much!

I also tell you, my children, to love your neighbour because if you do not love your neighbour, you do not love my Son.

I also tell you, my child: do not be afraid —I have said it lots of times—, being God with you, who can you be afraid of, my child?

Besides, there are lots of people among the human race who are whitened graves (as well as when Christ was on Earth); they seem to be just before the eyes of men, my child, but they are condemned before the eyes of God.  Do not be hypocrites, my children.

From the bottom of your heart, from the bottom of your heart, you must implore Christ; your prayer must come not from your lips but from your heart. Visit the most Holy Sacrament, my children; my Son is waiting for you.  He is sad and alone; console him, my children, console him because the major pride I feel- as any good mother when somebody touches her child; and I feel so much joy! The same I feel when I see you all love my Son - is that you console my Son, my child.

Yes, my children, sacrifices and prayer I ask.

I bless you, my children, as the Father blesses you, through the Son and with the Holy Spirit. Raise all your objects, my children; all will be blessed, my children; will receive special graces...

Kiss my foot, my child, I am going to grant you this privilege of kissing my foot...

Good-bye, my children.  Good-bye.

COMMENTARY UPON THE MESSAGES

August 15th, 1983 (Continuation)

“My child, my child, I had to come in such an important day, my child. As well as you take part in the sorrows of Christ’s Passion, you are going to take part in My Glory too, my child.

I’ve come, my child, as your Mother of mercy and love.  I watch constantly, my child, for all my children, for all, because you all are my children; this is the human inheritance, my children, I am entitled to this inheritance.” (Our Lady)

Luz Amparo, to whom Our Lady appears, has been taking part in the Passion of Christ since the moment she said “yes” to Our Lord, in November 15th 1980, when He asked her to suffer with Him for the salvation of souls.  "You can save lots of souls with your sufferings", He told her.  And He added:  "Do you accept it, my child?" Luz Amparo answered, “...with your help I will bear it".  Thus she signed —so as to say— a blank check to Our Lord, bearing all kinds of moral and corporal sufferings; indeed, in this same message that we are commenting on (15th , Aug, 1983), the Virgin reminds her:  “You must offer yourself, my child; reflect upon the fact that my Son has chosen you as a victim for the good of Humankind.  Yes, my child, and think also about the fact that souls will be saved if there are victims to repair the sins of others.”

However, this hard mission has been accompanied by aids and comforts from Heaven; that is why Our Lady tells her  “As well as you take part in the sorrows of Christ’s Passion, you are going to take part in My Glory too, my child” and shows her a scene from her Assumption into Heaven.

“I watch constantly, my child, for all my children, for all, because you are all my children; this is the human inheritance, my children, I am entitled to this inheritance.” What does she mean with these words? Jesus Christ gave Humankind – represented by saint John- to his Blessed Mother as “an inheritance”, as this apostle tells us in the Gospel: “Seeing his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing near her, Jesus said to his mother, 'Woman, this is your son. 'Then to the disciple he said, 'This is your mother.' And from that hour the disciple took her into his home” (Jn 19, 26-27)

“I lived, my child, seventy-three years on Earth among the human race; I lived as my Son did, I followed the Gospel’s path; I could sin, my child, but I never did it.” (Our Lady)

Sometimes, God tells us unnecessary details in the messages as a gift; for example, how old Our Lady was when she left this land or her statement “I could sin, my child, but I never did it”, which obviously requires an explanation:  The Virgin Mary, free from the original sin, was not inclined to the evil of our injured human nature caused by that original fault or, in other words, “concupiscence”; nevertheless, she was free to choose between good and evil; She always  chose good, reaching thus a very high degree of virtue and holiness.  Saint Augustine teaches that, by the honour of Our Lord, Mary must be excluded from any personal sin(1).  Affirming that Mary never sinned is undoubtedly true, which is a very special privilege due not to her nature (for the Virgin is a creature) but to Jesus who was impeccable because of his divine nature joined to the human one.  The Blessed Virgin could have sinned as a human creature, although she never did it because of the privilege of her Immaculate Conception, which let her off any spot of sin at every moment of her life.  In order to understand it better, Our Lady’s sentence could be:  “...I could sin (as a creature), my child, but I never did it (because God gave me the privilege of being the Immaculate Conception)".

As we have mentioned the concupiscence or inclination to evil all human beings have and from which Our Lady was freed, it could be useful to meditate upon some words —surely strange for some people— of the great saint and doctor of the Church, st. Thomas of Aquinas.  He speaks of four inner injuries of our poor fallen nature, damaged by the original sin that drags us so easily to sin:  “...Therefore in so far as the reason is deprived of its order to the true, there is the wound of ignorance; in so far as the will is deprived of its order of good, there is the wound of malice; in so far as the irascible is deprived of its order to the arduous, there is the wound of weakness; and in so far as the concupiscible is deprived of its order to the delectable, moderated by reason, there is the wound of concupiscence"(2).  The Catechism of the Church teaches, “…human nature has not been totally corrupted: it is wounded in the natural powers proper to it, subject to ignorance, suffering and the dominion of death, and inclined to sin - an inclination to evil that is called concupiscence"(3).

“I set an example, example of humbleness, I set an example of poverty, and I set an example of purity.  I also set an example, among the entire human race, of faith, so that they had faith in Christ.  I left that inheritance among the human race.  That is the example I set, my child, during all my life” (Our Lady)

Our Lady recalled several of her virtues in the message.  The great marian saint, Saint Louis Mary Grignion de Montfort, comments in his classical treatise on True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin:  "True devotion to our Lady is holy, that is, it leads us to avoid sin and to imitate the virtues of Mary. Her ten principal virtues are: deep humility, lively faith, blind obedience, unceasing prayer, constant self-denial, surpassing purity, ardent love, heroic patience, angelic kindness, and heavenly wisdom. " (n.108) (To be continued).
