COMMENTARY ON MESSAGES

September the 25th, 1981

(Continuation)

This time the Virgin speaks to Luz Amparo to give her some advices as well as to announce in a prophetic way some great relevant events; it is the first message full of details about this subject.

"Obey your spiritual father" She recommends her at the beginning; she will repeat it several times in other messages. "Do not become discouraged, ask your spiritual father for advice; he will guide you, my daughter", She insists on it in October the 16th, that same year. The following month, November the 20th, the lord says: "Be humble, my daughter, talk with your spiritual father, he will guide you".

How advisable spiritual guidance is for all of us! In general, we must consider it a necessity for every soul who tries to achieve sanctity. It is often said rightly that the worst adviser of a person is the person himself; Saint Bernard says, " The one who becomes master of himself goes a disciple of a fool"(Letter 87, 7). Guidance helps us not only to fight against temptations but also to practice virtues. Our passions darken our understanding and the Demon tries to confuse us; therefore, it is necessary the help and direction of a spiritual guidance encouraging us to follow the path of perfection as well as advising us of the dangers that threaten our souls. Once, Pope John Paul II recommended it with these words: "In our lives there are many moments of darkness, even weaknesses. This is the time for personal spiritual direction. If you talk trustily, if you tell your own inner fights in a simple way, you will win and there will not be obstacles or temptations which set you apart from Christ" (1)

Once again, She asks Luz Amparo to take Jesus’ Cross and makes her take part in this mystery of sorrow: " spread your arms as my Son spread them on the Cross to save Humankind (...) Take that cross, my daughter, put it on your back and follow my Son, as I followed him to the Cross with my Heart pierced by sorrow and with my Son suffering to save Humankind". By means of Faith, we know that suffering entered the world because of sin, for God preserved man from sorrow and pain when He created him; he would have passed from Paradise to Heaven to enjoy there eternally. For this, the Virgin says in this same message: "Those chosen, my daughter, will come back to the Garden of Eden. I will come with my Son for the chosen (...). The chosen will see the Paradise of love and happiness".

She gives us some prophetic announcements, related to the Bible, and which can only be cleared by time. " Many people will die in the hands of the enemy, the enemy’s kingdom will not last much time (...). The fight will seem to you long; then, the enemy will win. There will be three days of darkness; the sun will darken and the moon will glimmer faintly". She points out the characteristics of the children of God during that time: "They will keep on praying and not forgetting God (...) Prayer is what I am asking of you, by prayer you will save yourselves". She mentions two biblical characters: "the fourth abode is prepared for the fight; at those moments Elijah and Enoch will appear, they will make great marvels in order that many enemies of my Son repent and come back to God (...). Elijah and Enoch, witnesses of Jesus, will be of much use for the conversion of Humankind, they will be killed, and after their death there will be a great miracle, my daughter; that is written". The Sacred Scripture mentions them frequently; even several passages talk of Elijah as a prophet. Ancient authors identify them, together, as the two witnesses of the Revelation " I will entrust my word to my two witnesses who will proclaim it for one thousand two hundred and sixty days, dressed in sackcloth" (Rv 11,3). Therefore, it coincides with this message which calls them "witnesses of Jesus", and explains the reason why the Bible does not talk of their death but of their mysterious disappearance: "Elijah said to Elisha, ‘What shall I do for you before I am taken away from you? Ask me (...) As they were talking on the way, a chariot of fire with horses of fire stood between them, and Elijah was taken up to heaven in a whirlwind" (2Kgs 2, 9.11). "Elijah because of his zeal for the Law was taken up onto heaven" (1 Mc 2, 58). "Enoch pleased the Lord and was taken up, calling future generations to repentance" (Sir 44,16). "By faith Enoch was taken to heaven, instead of experiencing death: he could not be found because God had taken him" (Heb 11,5). When interpreting these passages, other authors think of Moses and Elias, who represent "the Law and the Prophets". However, this is a mysterious biblical event that has not been defined by the Church.

With respect to the great miracle, we do not know its characteristics; we suppose that it will come from God’s hands, and it will show His power and greatness as well as it will invite us to conversion, as a fruit of His Mercy upon Humanity.

The following words are soaked with deep beauty and bring some passages from the Gospel to our minds: "Those who are thirsty come to my Son; He is the source of life. Those who carry heavy burdens come to my Son; He will refresh you. Come to my Son, He will take you to the abode of life. In that abode it is written ‘Those who eat my Food and drink my Blood will be saved’. That will be an eternal life".
