COMMENTARY UPON MESSAGES
October 23rd, 1981
"Call Elohim, my daughter, call Elohim, your celestial Father, King of Universe, my daughter, to comfort you, my daughter; I constantly feel that same sorrow because of the wickedness of all sinners" (The Lord)
The word "Elohim" alludes to one of the names of God in the Old Testament; in such a way He is referred to during the patriarchal period (from the revelation to Moses, He is named "Yahweh"). It also appears in the Gospel; for instance, according to Saint Mark’s narration, the moment when Jesus referring to the psalm 22 (21) cried to His Father in the Calvary: " "Eloi, Eloi, lamma sabachthani?" which means "My God, My god, Why have you deserted me?" 1. All that time, His soul was pressed by the weight of our sins which he carried; the Father allowed Him to sink in a fathomless abyss of sufferings.
Consequently, it is not strange in this message that the lord proposes Luz Amparo to call "Elohim" – "your celestial Father" He says – in order to comfort her as well as He needed comfort during the Crucifixion and some hours before at Gethsemane. In the same way, God the Father makes her feel a horrible abandonment. Taking into account the words of the psalmist, which have always referred to the Innocent Victim, we can understand this: "Dishonour has driven me to despair; I looked for sympathy and there was none, for comforters and there was none"2
"They are constantly offending God; they should meditate on this and think how the Son of God suffered in His Passion: how He was crowned with thorns, how He was whipped, how He gave His last drop of blood for all of you"
The meditation on the Lord’s Passion is a main characteristic of the spirituality of Prado Nuevo since the Virgin asked forit for the first time in June 14th, 1981. What beautiful fruits we can harvest with such a Christian practice! There are different ways to do so: reading the Passion in the Gospel or in pious books, the way of the Cross, saying the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary, etc. Even there are messages that, according to Luz Amparo’s visions, contain fragments of huge value and beauty about those moments of sorrow.
A classic author, father Luis de la Palma (s. XVII), writes about the advantages of this pious practice in his well-known book History of the Holy Passion: "The meditation on the Passion is good for all the people and all states. It is powerful not only to uproot man from bad life completely but also to awake those who begin to feel sorrow and hatred for their sins; it encourages those who make good use of it, and it is a most perfect pattern of every virtue; it is a most effective incentive to love (…). All the examples of our Lord Christ’s virtues, spread over His life, shine more highly in His Passion; His sermons, all His doctrine and His most excellent advices are preached in His Passion; the sense of all the difficulties we can endure and the highest degree of miseries we can undergo because of Justice are in His Passion; every disappointment and knowledge of truth is found in His passion; The whole celestial science and understanding and wisdom are in His Passion"3
The following lines of the message detail some prophetic announcements and contain mysteries which only time will reveal: "The Eternal Father is going to send His wrath in a moment, they must repent (…). The Son of God will come down on a cloud soon and He will send His angels and they will pull up the weeds from the field which do not bear any fruit (…); they must realize that the thousand years of the beast have been fulfilled".
Let us not forget Heaven’s measure of time is different from ours; consequently, what seems imminent to us is not about to happen for the Lord, for whom everything is present. Besides, let us consider the fact that fulfilment of prophecies depends on man’s response to God (for example, in the Book of Jonah (3,1-10), the announced damnation over Nineveh was not carried out because the city, with its king at the head, turned to God).
"Tell them all that I do not want them to be damned, My Mother is suffering for all of them. I cannot allow Her to suffer anymore; She is constantly suffering and crying".
These words remind us of those from the Book of Lamentations which allegorically refer to the Virgin Mary: "All you who pass by, look and see. Is there any calamity like this" (Lm 1,12). The suffering of the Hearts of Jesus and Mary, being one Heart by means of the great love that joins them up, is a fathomless mystery. She is the Virgin of Sorrows, Our Lady of Anguishes, the Redeemer’s Mother… She is firm by the cross; although she is overflowed with sorrow, She remains there with a strong soul. Such a huge love of Her Immaculate Heart supported Her in those moments of supreme affliction, during Jesus’ Passion; She made these verses from the Song of Songs become a reality: "For love is strong as death (...)it burns like a blazing fire (...) No flood can extinguish love nor river submerge it" (Song (Sg)8,6-7) . When love is true, it is accompanied by sorrow, and the blessed Virgin loves and suffers at the same time; She sees in Her innocent and tortured Son a summary of all injustices, She is also afflicted by men’s sin, by our sins because we are sinners. It is necessary to come by the Cross; there we will find Mary, the Mother of the Crossed, the Saviour. He will set us free from our blames with His redeeming blood. (It will continue)
