BLESSING OF DECEMBER 7TH, 2002, FIRST SATURDAY OF MONTH. AT PRADO NUEVO, EL ESCORIAL (MADRID)
THE VIRGIN
Raise all your objects; all of them have been blessed for all homes, for the union of families, my children.
I bless you as the Father blesses you, through the Son and with the Holy Spirit.
COMMENTARY UPON MESSAGES
October 2nd, 1981
We have chosen some paragraphs from this message of the Virgin with its correspondent commentary:
"Look, my daughter, How my Heart is; it is pierced by grief. Look, how It bleeds for all of my children, all of them, without distinction of race. Ask a lot for Russia’s conversion; Russia is the scourge of Humankind. Ask for its conversion".
Virgin’s love is universal: it spreads over all Humanity without distinctions of race, culture social condition, etc. She loves with motherly love; She is Mother of all men ("Mother of the living"1 the Vatican Council calls Her), She knows everyone and She worries about them because they have a soul to save. Her Son, Jesus Christ, is our Redeemer and Mary gave Him from Her virginal womb the blood He shed for our love on the Cross. This filial relationship depends, then, on our knowledge and acceptance of Her. The Church is also universal or catholic; our resurrected Jesus said so to the apostles: "Go, therefore, and make disciples from all nations. Baptize them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" (Mt 28, 19). The blessed Virgin is, in a more specific way, Mother of the Church – as Paul VI named Her2 – and She protects it with loving care.
The plea for Russia’s conversion appears repeatedly in some messages, as it did so in Fatima. " Offer your grieves for Russia’s conversion, my daughter" She says to Luz Amparo a few days later (October 23rd, 1981); afterwards, She insists on this subject asking for "the consecration of Russia in particular" (May 3rd, 1986) as a requirement to achieve its coming back to God. You can notice the special value the Virgin gives to this wish of Hers; fulfilling it will do so much good to that nation and the rest of the world.
"Tell everybody, my daughter, that the Son of Man will come in the Glory of His Father with the holy angels, and He will reward each one according to his deeds. Then, the Sign of the Son of Man will appear in Heaven, and the nations of the earth will beat their breast with repentance"
The last two sentences correspond with quotations from Saint Mathew’s Gospel (Mt 16,27 and Mt 24, 30). How important deeds and our love when performing them will be on the Judgement Day! Testimony has to go with words, prayer has to lead to action, and true love is reflected in good deeds. Not in vain Saint John of the Cross warns us: "in the evening you will be examined in love"3; that is to say, at the end of life or each day, after a big or small deed after every action or omission we will be judged for the charity laid on every moment. Taking this into account, The Lord referring to the Final Judgment says: " Come, blessed of my Father! Take possession of the kingdom prepared for you from the beginning of the world. For I was hungry and you fed me, I was thirsty and you gave me drink. I was a stranger and you welcomed me into your house. I was naked and you clothed me. I was sick and you visited me. I was in prison and you came to see me" (Mt 25, 34-36)
The second sentence, in line with Saint Matthew`s words (24, 30), is about "the sign of the Son of Man". Since Jesus Christ redeemed us with it, could it be the Cross, the sign of Christians? He is the Son of God and the Son of Man according to the description of prophet Daniel (Dn 7, 13). In this case, "all the peoples and nations" will mourn, because this sign will remind them of Christ’s death and it will lead many of them to repentance and compunction
Pray a lot, my children, do a lot of penance. It is the only way of getting to my Son".
There are two general ways of achieving salvation: innocence or penance. The first one is out of our reach, for we have sinned many times; therefore it is necessary to do penance which, as a virtue, keeps us in grievance for having offended God and in eagerness to repair our faults. Penance makes us participants in Christ’s Passion and His merits. Although incomprehensible for most mortals, it is not strange that saints appreciate the cross so much (for example, Saint Theresa of Jesus repeated: " or suffering or dying")
"Realize, my children, that Satan is trying to ruin souls; he is inside the Church (…); Satan has taken possession of many of my children"
Hard words, undoubtedly; but those pronounced by the Pope Paul VI are not any the less severe, when he said in a frightful way: "Through some crack the smoke of Satan has entered the temple of God"4. In spite of all this, we have to remember that Christ has won the Demon with His death and Resurrection. We, God’s children, brothers and sisters of Jesus, our Redeemer, can also defeat our souls’ enemy. "Give in, then, to God; resist the devil and he will flee from you" the letter of Saint James (4, 7) teaches us. Let’s invoke the powerful intercession of Our Lady, the Virgin; She is the woman who has crushed the head of the hellish serpent (Gn 3, 15).
