COMMENTARY UPON MESSAGES
December 11th, 1981
(Continuation)
In the second part of the message (the first one was commented on last month), Our Lady talks to Luz Amparo. She reminds her of her spiritual motherhood: every man and woman, the old and the young, all human races, cultures and nations have a room under her mantle that is spread to protect us from any evil (especially, spiritual dangers) laying in wait. Indeed, one of the first prayers composed in honour of Mary says: "Your help I implore, Holy Mother of God, Despise not your poor children’s prayer. Deliver us from every evil, O Glorious and Blessed Virgin!"
She says: " Yes, my daughter, Your Mother is here, my daughter. Your Mother and Mother of all my children cannot be absent; my Son said it on the cross: mother of mine, behold, my brothers, look after them and love them. And He also said: you, for whom I have given my life, are not alone; now, you have a Mother to recourse to in all your needs"
As a matter of act, Jesus Christ, as man, is mediator between God and men. Saint Paul’s letters refer to this aspect several times; for instance, his first letter to Timothy says: "As there is one God, there is one mediator between God and Humankind, Christ Jesus, himself human, who gave his life for the redemption of all" (I Tim 2, 5-6). There are more quotations, all of them are as clear as this one; these two belong to the letter to Hebrews:
With beautiful words, Saint Austin confirms this doctrine by saying: "Between the Trinity and the weakness of men and their iniquity, a man was made a mediator, he was not a sinner, he was weak (as far as regards the fact that he was tempted in everyway just as we are, yet without sinning(1)) in order that- as he was not a sinner - he could lead you to God and – as he was weak- he came near to you; Thus, the Word was made flesh, that is to say, the Word was made man (2) "
Nevertheless, we can add to all we have said that the universal and major mediation of Christ does not prevent the action of other secondary mediators who depend on Him; we are talking about saints, in general, and Our Blessed Lady, in particular. She is Co- Redeemer of Humankind and Universal Mediator of all graces, She was associated to his Son’s redeeming work; Jesus is the new Adam, and Mary is the new Eve. Adam’s sin- together with Eve’s collaboration and Satan’s influence, who tempted them- brought the world into a great misery, leading it to its ruin. However, the Blood of Jesus Christ, shed in his Passion, and the sufferings of his mother, Our Lady of Sorrows, got the salvation for Humankind. This teaching has been set by an important number of Holy Fathers and late Popes have confirmed it.
Moreover, Saint Bonaventure, taking into account the words from the Book of Isaiah (" From the stump of Jesse a shoot will come forth; from his roots a branch will grow and bear fruit. The spirit of the Lord will rest upon him" Is 11,1), says that "those who want to get the grace of the Holy Spirit, must search for the flower on the twig, that is to say, Jesus in Mary; since you get the flower by means of the twig, and you get to God by means of the flower(3)". Besides, referring to Saint Matthew (" they saw the child with Mary his mother" Mt 2,11). The seraphic doctor also points out, " You will only find Jesus with Mary and by means of Mary, and in vain you will seek him if you do not seek him in company with Mary(4)"
Then, the message refers to ministers, bishops, rulers, societies and families; to show the moral situation of some of them, especially the first groups mentioned, it uses an image found in the Book of Revelation ("It had swept along a third of the stars of heaven with its tail, throwing them down to the earth" Rev 12,4). Then, Luz Amparo explains what she is watching, which is undoubtedly hell: " I am watching a dark planet, full of silt, it smells very badly, I can see many abominable figures fighting with each other, blaspheming, they are sunk up to their waists; now, it smells of sulphur, I can hear groans everywhere; it is horrible".
On the contrary, the following description made by Our Lady refers to a completely different state, full of everlasting joy and happiness: "Look, my daughter, how different this planet is! These planets are separated from the Earth; they are abodes where eternal life exists. Look at such a great separation from the Earth, what wide and colourful lakes! What pure souls! What beautiful flowers fill these grasslands! what beautiful fruits grow in trees! You have never seen this anywhere on earth. I think it is worth suffering to enjoy here all eternity, my daughter.
To finish with, the message ends with really worthy advices, warnings, teaching, etc:
